Attack on Chad's presidential palace in N'Djamena leaves 19 dead

A heavily armed commando attacked the Chadian presidential palace in the capital N'Djamena on Wednesday evening, before being overpowered by the presidential guard. The government has said 19 people were killed in the fighting, of which 18 were members of the commando unit that launched the assault. A story by Matthew-Mary Caruchet.
