The post-breeding migration of European starlings occurs from September to mid-November, while the pre-breeding migration, towards their nesting territories, occurs in February and March. It's known that the over-winter quarters of migratory populations include areas of northern Africa, southwestern Asia and the Iberian Peninsula.
