Government-appointed task force calls for further cuts in social assistance

THE FINNISH GOVERNMENT should be more aggressive about cutting social assistance to reach its cost-saving targets, a government-appointed task force states in a report published on Wednesday, 8 January.

The task force was appointed to explore means to halve the number of people relying on social assistance and generate 70 million euros in cost savings.
