China’s recent unveiling of advanced sixth-generation stealth fighter jets has sparked global concern, emphasising the need for India to accelerate its defence self-reliance. Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh highlighted delays in indigenous fighter jet projects and called for stronger private sector involvement in defence R&D. Singh underscored the risks of falling behind technologically and reiterated the necessity of embracing innovation despite higher costs.
