Heavy snowfall across United States from the Plains to the Mid-Atlantic region leaves 7 dead

The snowfall, which originated in the US Pacific Northwest and pushed southward, covered the Plains region and made its way to the eastern seaboard by Sunday, stopping businesses, extending winter breaks and leading to over a half-dozen fatalities.
