Blinkit, Zepto, or Swiggy, who delivers fastest? The winner is…Hyderabad woman conducts test, watch viral videos

New Delhi: We have had the online delivery system in India for some time now, thanks to the e-commerce platforms. There are certain products that we need instantly and for that, the established and a few other quick-commerce platforms have been launched that deliver the ordered goods within a stipulated time.

We hardly care about the exact duration that the delivery partner takes to bring our ordered stuff as claimed by the quick-commerce companies.

However, the curiosity of a woman in Hyderabad led her to conduct a test, or an experiment to check which of the three quick-commerce apps would deliver her order in shortest duration.

The woman, Sneha, a student of the Indian School of Business (ISB) studying at the Hyderabad campus, chose Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart and the results are being discussed on social media.

Sneha and her friend Aryan ordered different items from the apps simultaneously to test their promised delivery times. They shared the results in a series on X: “here’s how it went: > @letsblinkit came first at 15 mins (slightly late on what was promised, but the delivery person was so happy, it made our day). > @SwiggyInstamart followed at 20 mins – accurate timing and a super chill delivery guy. > @ZeptoNow showed up last, mostly because their store was farthest, and there was a location hiccup”.

Blinkit: 15 min.

Swiggy Instamart: 20 min.

Zepto: last, time not provided.

Sneha said that a chat with the Zepto delivery partner revealed the delay was due to the store’s distance from the campus.

She shared her experience with unedited videos of the deliveries.

The video has received many interesting comments. Sharing a few with you.

K PRAVEEN KUMAR REDDY @KPKRtweets: Good Experiment

But the variables at play include –

  1. Item Type/Frequency of ordering
  2. Warehouse or shop close by for the product
  3. Availability of the delivery agent near the shop
  4. Traffic/Distance from the place
  5. Delivery agent knowledge of the area

Cant Conclude!

Sneha @itspsneha: Honestly, there was no agenda.

We just wanted to see how accurate the promised times were.

Some quick lessons:

> Promised times? Take them with a pinch of salt.

> Store location matters A LOT.

> Delivery folks deserve all the credit for making this possible.

Ajit @AjitInduchudan: IMO – Waste of resources with no tangible outcome.

Sneha @itspsneha: true

Gopinath @goppieeee: You should same items across all platforms

Sneha @itspsneha: all of them are high moving items and that shouldn’t be a issue for them as order line items are single or double thats it

Ganesh Sonawane @ganeshunwired: ok blinkit girl, nice random experiment!

Sneha @itspsneha: it’s on the news already

am hyderabad woman

Sathwik @sathwikreddygv: Why different products?

Sneha @itspsneha; not that rich to order same things from different apps

Rutu Kulkarni @kulkarni_rutu: You and your experiments

Sneha @itspsneha: thank you bestie lol

Jitendar Singh @jitendarsinghk: Basically they’re digital coolie if you see from company pov

It’s disgraceful how these platforms prioritize speed over the dignity and fair treatment of their workforce, turning human labor into a commodity for consumer satisfaction. It’s time we stop celebrating these delivery

Sid @EncrypticTV: I order from Blinkit and Swiggy daily, Blinkit always delivers in less than 10 mins, Swiggy takes 15-20 mins on avg

Abhinav Panyala @abhinavreddy90: Hi Sneha, Good afternoon. At Instamart we would want the items to be delivered within 10mins. Can you please dm the instamart order ID. Want to understand this better and live up to our promises.
