SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs will be opening a new exhibition on Jan. 15 to kick off its 75th year. The exhibit will chronicle how the facility has evolved over the years.

Titled “Laying the Foundation: The Architecture of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame,” this new showing will explore how the museum has physically expanded since its founding in 1950. Through the years, there have been several additions made to the facility, including the West Wing in 1957, the George D. Widener Memorial Wing in 1978 and the Paul Mellon Wing in 2000.

“This particular exhibition really dives into how the institution has grown throughout the years to better meet the needs of our visitors and achieve our mission,” the museum's curator, Jessica Cloer, said in a press release.

The exhibition also coincides with the museum’s year-long celebration of its 75th anniversary. It will be the first of many events that the facility plans to host in 2025.

“We have a lot of plans to celebrate the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame’s 75th anniversary in 2025 and this exhibition is a great starting point to chronicle that journey,” Cloer said.

The exhibition will open on Jan. 15 in the Link Gallery. General admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for students and free for children 5 years of age and under.
