Woman, 88, critically injured in fire inside Manhattan apartment: NYPD
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (PIX11) – An 88-year-old woman was critically injured during a fire inside a Manhattan apartment early Tuesday, according to the NYPD.
The fire broke out in a Bennett Avenue building in Washington Heights around 12:15 a.m. The blaze did not spread to any other apartments, police said.
The victim was taken to Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause. No other injuries were reported and no one else was displaced, according to authorities.
