Schenectady PD seeks help in Mont Pleasant criminal mischief

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady Police Department is asking for the public's help as they investigate multiple cases of criminal mischief in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood.

Police first responded on Dec. 28 to multiple reports of slashed tires on Norwood Avenue, Willett Street, Van Cortlandt Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, Dewitt Street, and Vermont Avenue. There were also two reports of stolen vehicles on Van Cortlandt Street. Both vehicles have since been recovered.

On Jan. 5, police responded to more reports of slashed tires in the areas of Bridge Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, Santa Fe Street, Ten Eyck Avenue, and Van Cortlandt Street.

All incidents are believed to be related.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to report it immediately to 911. Anyone with information about the previous incidents is asked to call the police tip line at 518-788-6566.

Residents in the affected areas are asked to check home surveillance cameras and report any suspicious activity to the police tip line or by calling 518-382-5245.
