Subway Unveils Two New Sandwiches, Value Meal Deal

Just in time for the New Year, Subway is introducing two fresh sandwich options as well as a discounted meal deal which changes every day of the week.

On Jan. 6, Subway stores nationwide debuted two new subs as part of its Baja Bliss Collection. The chain is offering two takes on the Baja Bliss Sandwich, one made with chicken and the other with sliced turkey. Both items are prepared on the chain’s artisan Italian bread, garnished with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, red peppers, onions, olives, and jalapenos, and topped with Subway’s SubKrunch. (The chain introduced the latter topping, described as “crispy bits developed to add an audible crunch” back in July.)

The sandwiches are finished with a drizzle of “bold and zesty Baja Chipotle sauce," giving them "the perfect blend of cheesy, crunchy, and smoky Baja Bliss," for fans of full flavor.

The ubiquitous sandwicherie is also introducing a revolving daily Meal Deal which, if not as cheap as a $5 Footlong, looks back to those halcyon days. For $6.99, you can get a six-inch sub with a different fan “favorite” sub each day of the week, along with choice of a bag of cookies or chips and a small fountain drink.

The new Baja Chipotle Chicken sandwich will be available on Thursdays. On Mondays, customers can grab a Cold Cut Combo as part of the deal. Tuesday brings the All-Pro Sweet Chicken Onion Teriyaki, while Wednesday is Meatball Marinara day. Friday’s offering is a classic tuna sub; and the weekend finishes off with an Ultimate B.M.T. on Saturdays and a Philly sub on Sunday.

“Subway’s new Meal of the Day showcases the variety of better-for-you ingredients across our entire menu, our signature subs, and our definition of value—where you shouldn’t have to sacrifice quality for an affordable price,” Doug Fry, the president of Subway North America, said in a statement. “Whether dining on-the-go to fuel an active lifestyle or enjoying the moment after a long day, Subway has made ordering a satisfying and tasty meal a whole lot easier.”
