Tyreek Hill Floats Leaving Dolphins After Dismal Season Ender
The Miami Dolphins had a disappointing end to their season after their loss to the New York Jets on Sunday officially eliminated them from playoff contention. It marks the first time that wide receiver Tyreek Hill has missed out on the playoffs. And needless to say, the 30-year-old isn't happy about it.
When speaking to reporters in the locker room, Hill was asked to deliver a message to his team as a captain, but he was at a loss for words.
"I don't even know, bruh. This is my first time I haven't been in the playoffs," he said, per ESPN. "For me, I just have to do what's best for me and my family—if that's here or wherever the case may be."
Hill went on to hint that this season with the Dolphins will be his last. "I'm about to open up that door for myself... I'm out, bruh," he continued. "It was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what's best for my career."
"I'm too much of a competitor to just be out there," Hill added.
Hill first joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016 and enjoyed successful seasons with the now-legendary team, including his first (and so far, only) Super Bowl win in 2020. He signed a five-year contract with the Miami Dolphins in 2022, which was restructured before this past season began to adjust his guaranteed pay to $105.6 million.

For now, Hill gave a touching message to his Dolphins fans. "Love Fin nation, he wrote on X. "Y'all opened doors for the Hill family forever. Nothing but respect and love."
