Car fatally strikes person in Canajoharie

CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A car fatally struck a pedestrian on Saturday morning on I-90 westbound in Canajoharie. State Police said the name of the victim will not be released until the family has been notified.

Troopers responded to a report of a car-pedestrian collision at about 11:50 a.m. on Saturday. They determined that a car had stopped on the northern shoulder of I-90 westbound before the driver got out of the vehicle.

The driver was struck by a car going westbound, sustained serious injuries, and ultimately died on the scene, according to State Police. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
