SABRINA The Teenage Witch star has left fans excited after dropping the biggest hint yet that the show could be set for a reboot.

Melissa Joan Hart, who played the iconic Sabrina Spellman in the hit sitcom, told People magazine she believed the show would still be a hit today – minus one particular part.

The show aired on Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2003, delighting fans of witchcraft and humour with its magical storyline.

Melissa starred as a teenager in the show.

She discovers she’s a witch on her 16th birthday, hailing from a long line of witches, including her two aunts, who she lives with.

They also reside with a cat called Salem.

Formerly a human warlock Salem was sentenced by the Witch’s Council to spend 100 years as a cat, as punishment for trying to take over the world.

He consistently gives bad advice to Sabrina, often involving using magic to solve a problem, leaving Sabrina with even more problems than before.

And now the star has admitted that Salem may be the reason parts of the show might be deemed ‘inappropriate’ in today’s culture.

When asked by People magazine if the show could still air in 2024 the 48-year-old actress said: “Yes, I guess so. I think so.

She then added: “Some of Salem’s lines might have to change. Like he might’ve been a little racy, might have been a little inappropriate.”

Her co-star Jenna Leigh Green, who played Libby Chessler on the hit show agreed, saying: “I think there’s something about our show that there was … families watched together.”

“There were things that went over kids’ heads that were for the adults. But that was mainly Salem’s lines.”

The actress thrilled show fans in October last year after posting a photo with her Sabrina cast members Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick.

The pair, who played her two aunts in the show were photographed at a dinner in Edinburgh at the rather aptly named Witchery Hotel.

She captioned the image with: “We had a lovely dinner @thewitcheryedin and I even got my beloved ciabatta bread!” Hart wrote in the caption. “Thanks to Oliver for the tour of the property and taking such great care of this silly coven. @carolinerhea4real @bethabroderick.”

After Sabrina finished in 2003 Melissa appeared in Nine Dead and Robot Chicken before starring in Mellissa & Joey in 2010 alongside Joey Lawrence.

The actress is a mum to boys Mason, 16, Braydon, 14 and Tucker, 9, with her husband Mark Wilkerson.
