Non-appearance in response to proclamation a 'stand-alone offence': SC

The Supreme Court of India held that non-appearance in response to a proclamation is considered a stand-alone offence under section 174A of IPC, continuing even if the proclamation under section 82 CrPC is no longer in effect.
