Dutchess County soldier among Medal of Honor recipients
WASHINGTON (NEWS10) -- A Dutchess County soldier was posthumously honored at the White House on Friday. Pfc. Charles Johnson was one of seven Medal of Honor recipients recognized by Pres. Joe Biden.
The Millbrook native was killed in 1953 after holding off Chinese forces in the Korean War. His actions saved the lives of nine other soldiers.
The Medal of Honor is the United States' highest military award for acts of valor in combat.
