Police arrest 3 in connection to drug sales in Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Three men were arrested in connection to the sale of drugs in Troy. The arrests came after an investigation by the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office.

NEWS10 went on an exclusive ride along with the sheriff's office in November 2024 while police conducted a drug sting. Following the execution of a search warrant at a 6th Avenue home, investigators arrested Jesus Ramirez, Tremel Gibson and Matthew Smarro in connection to the sale of cocaine and fentanyl.

Ramirez was arrested on drug possession charges. While being booked, police said they found concealed cocaine and fentanyl, which resulted in an additional prison contraband charge. He also has three prior convictions.

Gibson and Smarro were arrested on previous warrants.
