Keep reading to find out more…“During the live taping of the show, [Matt] is supposed to do a kind of a pratfall, and he actually dislocated his shoulder,” David recalled to Entertainment Weekly. “He went totally white, and he stood up, and I could see his shoulder was out. He looked like he was going to pass out.”
David went on to say that he remembers “immediately turning to the camera like, ‘Cut, cut, cut.’ That was genuinely frightening. You could see how badly hurt he was. And we had to stop filming that night, obviously, and he went to hospital.”
“That was scary,” David added with a laugh.
As fans of Friends might recall, the writers ended up including Matt‘s dislocated into the show. The season 3 episode “The One with the Jam” began with Matt‘s character Joey Tribbiani off camera jumping on his bed before viewers hear him fall off. For the rest of the episode, Joey wears his arm in a sling.
