Homicide investigation underway in Opelousas, police confirm

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- Detectives with the Opelousas Police Department are investigating a homicide, the department confirmed.
Police said another person was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
Investigators said they responded to the area near Joseph Street and Planters Street on Thursday, Jan. 2.
Police have not released any information about a possible suspect or motive in this murder.
