Sports Briefs: Bulldogs’ Brovelli hits 1,000-point mark in win

Gio Brovelli pumped in 22 points, including the 1000th of his career, along with six rebounds and six assists to lead San Rafael High to a 77-51 win at De Anza on Thursday. Brovelli was an All-MCAL honorable mention last season.

Luke Shapiro added 21 points and five rebounds, Will Healy contributed eight pts and 12 rebounds, and Asher Urban collected nine boards for the Bulldogs, who improved to 11-3.

Girls basketball

Archie Williams High held on for a 42-38 home win against Novato on Thursday. The Peregrine Falcons struggled to find their rhythm, but Delphina Dong made big plays when needed and finished with 12 points. Lila Peterson led the Falcons with 13 points.

Women’s basketball

Marin Catholic grad Gracyn Lovette started her sixth game of the season for Lehigh University on Thursday. The Mountain Hawks sophomore scored six points and grabbed three rebounds and two steals in Thursday’s 65-53 victory over Bucknell in the Patriot League opener. Lehigh (10-3) puts its four-game winning streak on the line Sunday against Loyola University Maryland.
