Extensive delays expected after person hit by Metra train near North Chicago
Extensive delays were expected after a Metra train struck a person Thursday morning near North Chicago.
Inbound Union Pacific North train #322 struck the person sometime before 8:40 a.m., according to an alert by Metra.
Inbound and outbound trains were halted and Metra officials were anticipating extensive delays, the alert stated.
The condition of the person struck isn’t immediately known. A spokesperson with Metra said the agency was still gathering details on the incident.
