Coal production from captive, commercial mines rises 34 pc in Apr-Dec period

Coal production from captive and commercial mines increased by 34.2% to 131.05 million tonnes in the April-December period of the current fiscal year, with last year's output being 97.665 million tonnes. December alone saw a production of 18.40 million tonnes. The coal sector showed a 7.5% growth in November 2024 according to the Index of Eight Core Industries.
