Centre forms working group for base revision of WPI; Niti Aayog's Ramesh Chand to head

The Centre has set up a Working Group to revise the base year of Wholesale Price Index (WPI) from 2011-12 to 2022-23, headed by Professor Ramesh Chand from NITI Aayog. Inflation for November 2024 dropped to 1.89%, reflecting lower price increases in food and manufactured goods despite mixed trends in some categories.
