Gray Delighted With Four Straight Wins

Hibernian Head Coach David Gray was delighted after his side recorded a fourth straight win in the William Hill Premiership.

Nectar Triantis scored the only goal of the game as the Hibees ground out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Easter Road.

The result tops off an excellent week for the Club, backing up our Edinburgh Derby victory with another three points.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Gray emphasised how happy he was to end 2024 on a high.

“I am delighted with the result, it was always going to be a tough challenge coming off the back of such a positive result at Tynecastle and to make sure we backed that up with another result today.

“This league tells you – it is hard to win games of football, so I am delighted for the players to go and win four wins on the bounce.

“We have come a long way in a short period of time, but it is something that I have always believed we could do. We need to keep pushing forward now.”

Nectar’s first half header proved to be the difference between the sides, and when Kilmarnock were reduced to 10-men in the second half the Hibees saw out the game without too much trouble to claim the victory.

“We were by no means at our best today", Gray continued.

“The clean sheet is huge for us so we will take confidence from that. These were the games that we have let ourselves down a bit earlier on in the season by conceding late goals. But, I felt today we were in control of the game.

“We know we can be miles better – but I am hugely proud of the players for delivering four straight wins. The togetherness is starting to grow and the result was the most important thing today.”
