4 arrested after police seize drugs, guns from Bennington home

BENNINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10) — Four people were arrested in Bennington on Wednesday following a narcotics investigation, according to police. This comes after a search warrant was executed at a home on North Branch Street.

Officers allegedly found 40 grams of crack cocaine and 1,250 bags of fentanyl, which were being manufactured and sold at the property. The drugs were found along with scales, manufacturing materials, and drug paraphernalia, said police.

Police also reportedly found loaded firearms near the suspects and the seized narcotics, including an M-4 rifle with seven 30-round magazines, a 9mm semiautomatic pistol, a .22 caliber revolver and a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun. No one was injured during the search. 

Arrestees

  • Isaiah Ibrahim Acevedo Jr., 21, of Holyoke, Mass.
  • Michael Vanaman, 41, of Bennington
  • Emily Reed, 31, of Bennington
  • Katelyn Galusha, 26, of Pownal

Charges

  • Fentanyl trafficking 
  • Possession of cocaine 
  • Manufacturing crack cocaine 
  • Conspiracy to distribute narcotics 
  • Possession of firearms during the commission of a felony 
  • Possession of large ammunition-feeding devices

Vanaman and Reed were held at Marble Valley Correctional Facility on $150,000 cash bail. Acevedo Jr. was also lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility on $250,000 cash bail. Galusha was released with a citation to appear in the Criminal Division of the Bennington Superior Court.
