Fumes in the cockpit prompts Hawaiian flight's return to Seattle

0
A Hawaiian Airlines flight bound for Honolulu was forced to return to the Seattle airport shortly after takeoff due to fumes in the cockpit. The FAA initially said it was smoke but changed it to fumes. The Airbus A330 took off at about 1 p.m. Monday from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport carrying 273 passengers and 10 crew members. An airline spokesperson says the crew reported fumes in the cabin and the captain declared an emergency. The plane returned to Seattle and everyone safely deplaned. An airport spokesperson says once the plane was clear, the Port of Seattle Fire Department boarded but did not find any smoke or smell. The FAA is investigating.
