Manipur accounted for 77 per cent of total violence in Northeast in 2023: MHA

Manipur saw about 77 per cent of the violence in the northeastern region in 2023 due to ethnic strife between the Meitei and Kuki communities. This conflict led to many casualties and injuries. The central government provided support, deploying security forces and monitoring the situation. As of now, over 250 people have died.
