Lazy last day of 2024
Hello Friends,
In line with expectations, the final day of 2024 bows out with another sunny but close to waveless day. The MHL bouy was showing 0.7 metres of 13-second dead south swell around the time I took the picture above at North Curly. Wind was out of the NNW at 3-4 kts, so had there been swell, it would’ve been reasonably clean.
The dire spell of near flat conditions looks set to last into mid-next week unfortunately. There might possibly be a little something at semi-protected south swell spots on Thursday afternoon, but my guess is that you’ll need a high tolerance for windblown conditions…
Anyway, have a great NYE everyone and catch you again tomorrow.
Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extends along the New South Wales coast and across the far south of the state while a trough is developing inland. Today a weak trough is forecast to move along the southern coast before stalling, with a more vigorous change arriving later Wednesday or Thursday as a cold front passes to the south.
