Lake Charles man accused of molesting child in Westlake
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A Lake Charles man has been arrested in connection with an alleged mol;estation of a child, authorities said.
Marvin Pena, 46, of Lake Charles, is charged with sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report Dec. 21 of a possible sexual battery earlier in the day at a private event in Westlake.
During the investigation, detectives were told a guest at the event, who was unknown to the victim, inappropriately touched the girl. Investigators identified the suspect as Pena, officials said.
Detectives met with Pena on Friday. After speaking with him, he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on a $150,000 bond. A federal detainer was placed on Pena by U.S. Border Patrol after it was discovered he was in the United States illegally, authorities said.
