Police ‘extremely concerned’ for unknown woman dragged into car and assaulted

Police are ‘extremely concerned’ for a woman who was seen being dragged into a vehicle and assaulted.

A member of the public reported watching a woman trying to exit a car on Garners Lane in Stockport on Saturday morning.

But she was dragged back into the dark coloured hatchback car, headed towards Davenport Train Station.

Greater Manchester Police have released CCTV images of the car along the road.

The woman was described as white, wearing dark coloured leggings and UGG boots.

The driver is described as a white man wearing a black coat or jumper.

PC Natalie Jamieson of Stockport CID said: ‘We have been conducting house to house, CCTV and dashcam footage enquiries since the report, trying to establish the full circumstances of what may have happened.

‘So far, these enquiries have proven negative for locating the woman or driver, and we are now in a position of needing to appeal for the wider public’s help.

‘At the centre of this is potentially a woman who is in need or urgent safeguarding or medical care, and we need to locate her as soon as possible.’
