Greater Chennai Corporation takes steps to improve water carrying capacity of canals in the city

It has started bathymetry surveys of the canals in the city and will also carry out unmanned aerial vehicle LiDAR mapping of 200 m wide strip on either side of the canals to identify encroachments on their courses
