Chrissy Tiegen Jokes ‘Winter Break’ Is Not for Moms in Cute & Chaotic New Videos of Her 4 Kids

The kids don’t have school, the house is still a mess from Christmas morning, and we are still surviving on leftovers and candy — but somehow, it’s already time to go back to work. As a mom of three kids elementary-aged and younger, these next two weeks are hard! I’m currently writing this while helping with LEGO sets, making breakfast, and watching cartoons. Chrissy Teigen totally gets it as a mom of four young kids with husband John Legend. She just shared how winter break is decidedly not for moms, and I’ve never related to anything more!

“winter break for WHO,” the Cravings author wrote on Instagram this week. She shared several cute and chaotic videos of her kids Luna, 8, Miles, 6, Esti, 23 months, and Wren, 18 months. In the first one, Luna and Esti dance together in their pajamas in front of a Christmas tree. Luna sings “Jingle Bells” as she dances and encourages Esti to shake a gigantic set of bells while Legend and Teigen laugh and cheer from off-camera.

Teigen also shared videos of Miles playing basketball, including several shots of him scoring. Luna shows off her creativity in a video of her making string art and assembling a sushi roll. There’s also a video of the four kids riding in a car at the airport getting ready to travel for the holidays. Their life definitely looks very busy!

Many parents could relate to Teigen’s post. “Not the parents. Lol. You are both amazing and your kids are adorable,” one person said. Someone else wrote, “Omg every slide is perfect.”

Another person related this to a line from a famous Christmas carol: “???? and mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again ????.” Hey, at least we aren’t alone in feeling like this!

The Teigen/Legend family spent Christmas in London this year. The Chrissy & Dave Dine Out star shared photos of her family in front of the tree, with all four kids in matching red-and-green plaid pajamas. “Christmas morning in London! Merry Christmas, guys. We love you so much,” Teigen captioned the photo. In it, Luna hugs her mom’s shoulder and Esti stares bleary-eyed off to the side with messy hair. Miles and Wren both sit on their dad’s lap, as everyone sits in front of a dazzling tree decorated white lights and gold ornaments. Presents surround them in this cozy Christmas scene.

While they were in London, Luna got to interview her dad for Billboard about his new children’s album, My Favorite Dream, where she tried to get her dad to “compromise” on his rule to wait until she was 16 for a smartphone. “How about we compromise on 9?” she asked, making the Grammy-winner throw his head back and laugh.  

Later, she asked him, “What do you love most about our family?” The “L-O-V-E” singer responded, “So many things!”

“I think it’s the most pure love you can have is the love you have for your family,” he continued. “It’s so pure, and when me and Mommy look at you, and look at your brothers and sister, we see ourselves. And we want to pour all this knowledge and all these lessons we’ve learned in life into you, and help you become the best adults you can be.”

It’s an important perspective to remember, especially during the tough days of winter break!
