New business unit opened in Kazakhstan by Martin Engineering

0

Bulk handling solutions company Martin Engineering will open a new business unit in Kazakhstan as part of the company's expansion into central Asia. The unit will be based in the country's largest city and commercial centre, Almaty.

The new venture will become a regional hub with Martin bringing its entire range of products and services to the region in response to the fast-growing mining sector across central Asia.

Kazakhstan is the world’s ninth-largest country in terms of landmass and is geology-diverse, containing an array of metal ores and mineral resources. This has lead to an increase in mining and mineral production in the area, as the industry becomes a bigger factor in the Kazakh economy.

Martin Engineering has had previous success in the country, and the decision to place a business centre here builds on that previous success. This success includes innovations such as the conveyor belt cleaning process Martin brought to Kazakhstan’s largest copper producers to maximise plant efficiency and productivity.

Mining and mineral processing companies in the area will have access to Martins products, including its CleanScrape belt cleaners, versatile Orion SQC2S secondary belt cleaner, and high-performance air cannons featuring smart series nozzles for optimal material flow. Having a unit in the region will improve service response times and supply chain logistics. Enhanced problem-solving services and training will be more available.

Having spent seven years at Martin Engineering, Oleg Glukhov will now oversee the new unit. He is well-placed to support the project and Kazakhstan’s mineral processing firms with any help they may require, whilst improving operational performance and safety.

Oleg Glukhov, general manager at Martin Engineering, said: “Kazakhstan is one of the world’s key sources of metals and industrial minerals. Processing materials safely, efficiently and profitably is important, and that’s where Martin Engineering comes in – our market-leading products and services are proven to solve materials handling challenges for the world’s biggest mining and minerals companies.”

Martin Engineering focuses on developing and manufacturing innovations for cleaner, safer, more productive bulk material processing. The companies main focus is currently on conveyor belt performance and flow technologies. Products aim to eliminate blockages, prevent spillages, and reduce dust emissions.
