Mega Millions jackpot reaches $1 billion ahead of Christmas Eve drawing

The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $1 billion ahead of the lottery drawing on Tuesday, according to lottery officials. The cash value is estimated to be $448.8 million.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot was won in Florida back in 2023. The winner received $1.6 billion.
A ticket in New Jersey won Mega Millions' fifth-largest jackpot of $1.1 billion back in March.
