Potawatomi Nation signs vandalized at Burnett's Mound in Topeka
TOPEKA (KSNT) - 27 News stopped by Burnett's Mound in southwest Topeka after online reports of vandalism to several signs in the area which detail the history of the Potawatomi Nation.
A 27 News reporter found three signs were vandalized with black spray paint. The signs detail the history of Burnett's Mound, fur trading in Kansas, the American Revolution, the Oregon Trail, the Pottawatomi Reservation on the Kansas River and more.
Yes we have and this will be a priority for our staff on the 26th as we return from the holiday. It is sad to see this damage anywhere but especially in one of Shawnee County's most beautiful natural areas. We encourage everyone to report any damage as soon as possible and if they witness anything to contact Park Police, TPD or SCO.
