I transformed my hair from straggly to lusciously thick without expensive products – people can’t believe how long it is

WE all want thick and luscious hair, but unless you’re genetically blessed it isn’t always a possibility, at least that’s what one woman thought.

After struggling with dry and damaged locked for years, Belallure, from Miami, thought she’d never have the thick and healthy mane she dreamed of.

She showed off how much her hair grew thanks to the three tips[/caption]

But, with a few simple and cheap tricks she managed to totally transform her hair and explained exactly how on TikTok.

Her first tip might sound simple, but it can make a huge difference and that’s to make sure you’re drinking plenty of water.

“Your hair is like a vampire that thrives off blood and the nutrients in your blood, and so drinking water helps carry those nutrients to your hair, which stimulates growth,” she explained in the viral clip.

According to  experts at high-quality extensions specialists Roxy Hair, drinking water is a non-negotioalble for healthy locks.

!”Hydration is hugely beneficial for strengthening hair and reducing the risk of breakage,” they told GB News.

“Water rehydrates hair and can also promote growth, so it’s essential to ensure you drink enough water throughout the day.”

Next, the hair whizz suggested giving yourself scalp massages to help your hair grow.

For just a few minutes per day, she gently rubs her scalp using light pressure from her finger tips, although there are also scalp massage machines you can buy that do the same thing.

There are a few benefits to this, as Anna Wiig, hairstylist, colourist and founder of Wiig previously told Stylist.

“De-clogging cells from the hair follicles is also a big one.

“Sometimes, if people experience hair loss, they can be nervous about rubbing or massaging and therefore tend to leave the area untouched.

“This can lead to dead skin cells blocking the follicles, thus stopping the hairs from being able to grow through,” she explained.

Then, in a bid to further increase blood flow, the hair whizz said she hangs her head upside down for roughly four minutes every day.

By using these free and easy steps, she claimed her locks grew two inches in the space of just one month.

“Trust me these tips work and they’re free so you really have nothing to lose,” she said.

She’s not the only one who swears by some of the hacks either, as one person commented: “I’ve tried the scalp massage and it worked very well.”

“Massage helped me too,” another chimed in.

Meanwhile, other hair fans were stunned by the impressive growth, as one said: “Looks like two different people, amazing.”

“You’ve got such beautiful hair now,” another said.

And someone else commented: “Love your hair, going to try these out.”

The 4 stages of the hair growth cycle

Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growtn cycle are: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen

Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, is when the cells in the root of your hair are most rapidly dividing so more new hair is formed.

During the Anagen Phase, hair grows around half an inch a month [about six inches a year], and faster in the summer than in winter.

This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.

Catagen Phase: Following the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transitional phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts individual hairs off from the blood supply and from the cells that produce new hair.

Approximately three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any time and it lasts for around 10 days.

Telogen Phase: The third stage of your natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period when strands remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.

An estimate of 10-15 percent of your hairs are in the Telogen Phase at any given moment.

The Telogen Phase lasts around three months or 100 days.

Exogen Phase: The final stage of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hair strands are released from their follicles and fall out.

Now the whole process begins again.
