53 Afghan prisoners released from Pakistan

0

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has reported that 53 Afghan prisoners have been released from Pakistani jails and returned to Afghanistan.

According to a statement from the Spin Boldak Border Directorate on Tuesday, December 24, 45 individuals were released as single prisoners, while one family of eight was also among those freed and deported back to the country.

The statement added that the newly released prisoners re-entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak border crossing in Kandahar province.

Recently, Pakistan and several other countries have intensified the deportation of Afghan refugees. Many Afghan nationals have been arrested by police and imprisoned before being deported.

Two days ago, 12 Afghan prisoners, who had been detained for three days, were also released and sent back to Afghanistan.

The increasing trend of Afghan refugees being detained and deported highlights the fragile situation faced by many Afghans abroad. With limited resources and legal support, deported individuals often struggle to reintegrate into an unstable Afghanistan.

The current situation underscores the need for international collaboration to ensure the humane treatment of Afghan refugees. Countries hosting Afghan migrants must adopt policies that prioritize their safety and dignity, while Afghanistan must work toward creating conditions that reduce forced migration.
