The Murderers on Joe Biden’s Nice List
Many not-so-nice characters made their way onto Joe Biden’s nice list. When Santa Claus mistakes Dasher for Dancer and believes he lives in the South Pole, the elves tend to take over.
Drug dealer Kaboni Savage, whose very name provides a clue to his character, ordered the firebombing of a witness’s Philadelphia home, which resulted in 12 deaths, including those of a toddler, a 10-year-old, and a 12-year-old. “They should stop off and get him some barbecue sauce,” he said of a relative of the decedents released from prison to attend funerals, and “pour it on them burnt bitches.”
Iouri Mikhel kidnapped Eastern European immigrants, demanded ransom, and killed his victims even after receiving payment, which amounted to about a million dollars.
“Jorge Avila-Torrez sexually assaulted and stabbed to death two girls — Laura Hobbs, 8, and Krystal Tobias, 9 — who had been riding their bicycles in their neighborhood in a suburb north of Chicago in 2005,” the New York Post informs. “Four years later, he strangled naval officer Amanda Snell, 20, inside her barrack in Arlington, Va.”
Thomas Sanders murdered Suellen Roberts in front of her daughter in 2010 while the pair traveled on a Grand Canyon vacation. Then he kidnapped 12-year-old Lexis, brought her to Louisiana, repeatedly shot her, and slit her throat.
Anthony George Battle murdered and sexually assaulted his wife and later killed a correctional officer in the federal penitentiary in Atlanta because he felt “bossed around.”
These murderers and 32 others received word that the president had commuted their federal death sentences to life in prison. If this were the right thing to do, then why did Biden wait almost four years until his last days in office to do it? Strangely, not every federal death row inmate made the president’s nice list.
Biden left three villains on his naughty list: Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Tree of Life synagogue shooter Robert Bowers, and Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church mass-murderer Dylann Roof. The trio seems vile, but not any more than many of the others to whom the president had delivered reprieves. Why lift the sentences imposed at trial for the obscure murderers of third-graders riding their bikes but not for the headline-grabbing mass murderers killing because of race or religion?
This distinction seems more about public relations than principle. The presidential elves say otherwise. “He believes that America must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level,” the White House explains, “except in cases of terrorism and hate-motivated mass murder.”
In the Left’s hierarchy of sins, “hate,” a verb more often identifying as a noun in 2024, trumps even murder (which, when one thinks about it, almost always involves hatred at some level). So, Biden forbids the death penalty against serial killers and murderers/rapists of schoolgirls. But those whose murderous motivations included bigotry do not rate mercy. Like so many gifts this season, it’s the thought that counts. And for those whose crimes found fuel in thought crimes, no gift came from the president (whose identity, like that of Santa Claus, remains the subject of much debate).
“The President’s criminal justice record has transformed individual lives and positively impacted communities,” the White House boasts, “especially historically marginalized communities.” Is there a more historically marginalized community than “murder victim”? Joe Biden, or whoever calls the shots, did not positively impact that community.
