Nationwide Recall for Popular Protein Powder After Allergic Reaction

0

Popular nutritional supplement company Orgain announced a nationwide recall of its Organic Plant Based Chocolate Protein Powder Thursday.

The recall comes after a customer with a peanut allergy reported an allergic reaction to the product. Although no other reactions have been reported, the FDA warns that the batch in question may contain undeclared peanut residue, and those with a peanut allergy could "run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product."

The recalled product is a single batch of 30g Protein Organic Plant Based Powder - Chocolate 2.01lb with an expiration date of June 20, 2026, and a product lot code of 4172-02-P.1. No other Orgain products or batches have been recalled at this time.

If you have a known peanut allergy and regularly use this kind of Orgain protein the FDA urges consumers to stop using the product immediately.
