Hotel employee claims they haven't been paid
NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — There are two days to Christmas, and some Norman hotel employees claim they haven't received their most recent paycheck. Now, they're getting worried and want answers.
"All I know is they keep saying the money is eventually going to be there," said Darin Deck, who works at a Residence Inn in Norman.
It's a waiting game for Darin Deck and other employees. While Deck said he got his December 20 pay stub on Friday, the money never showed up in his bank account.
"This has come at the worst time because now not only am I worried about my pay, but I'm worried about getting my kids Christmas gifts," said Deck.
Deck said his manager has tried to talk to the owners of the hotel, but isn't having much luck.
"The manager of the hotel had been in contact speaking through the ownership. And they keep saying 'I'll get it done, I'll get it done,'" said Deck.
News 4 reached out to the corporate office, but learned they only recently took over the payroll accounts.
"We owned the property, but we had a management company that did payroll. We just took over managing it ourselves and owning it," someone said on the phone.
News 4 was passed along to someone else at corporate and did not hear back.
Deck said this is the first time this has happened and he's not only worried for himself, but his team at the hotel.
"They are a great team and they're all suffered because of this, you know, and it's just hard on us," said Deck.
There's a different company name listed on the pay stub Deck got last week.
We also reached out to that company, but did not hear back.
