Supporting the Pontypridd Foodbank
Pontypridd RFC prides itself on being a club deeply rooted in its community and the matchday bucket collection is a well established way for the club to serve that community. As a club we were very pleased to host Pontypridd Foodbank as the designated charity last Saturday 21st Decemeber when the team welcomed Ystrad Rhondda to Sardis Road.
Whilst the festive season is a time of joy for many, it can also be a difficult time for those in need. Pontypridd Foodbank supports the most vulnerable people in our communities so we were delighted that the supporters of both Pontypridd and Ystrad Rhondda dug deep to raise a sum of £600.00 for this extremely worthy cause – a huge thank you to both sets of supporters.
Honorary Treasurer and Charity Trustee of Pontypridd Foodbank Ray Minton said:
“On behalf of the Pontypridd Foodbank I confirm that the bucket collection from Saturday’s game with Ystrad Rhondda raised a fantastic total of £600.00.
The monies are sincerely received and will go towards our ongoing commitment in helping those requiring the use of the Pontypridd Foodbank.
As we distribute more food parcels to help adults and children in need than ever before, we are extremely grateful to donors like yourselves to help keep our Foodbank running.”
