Live Thread: Jazz @ Cavs (and a mini-Trifecta?)
Good evening CtB!
The Cavs welcome the Utah Jazz to the windy banks of the Cuyahoga River for the final game of a 3-in-4 days homestand before heading out West to ring in 2025. This is a classic trap for the good guys, where heavy legs and a terrible opponent may lull the team into playing down to their competition. Also, for former Cavs Lauri Markkanen and Collin Sexton this game is their one meaningful game of the season. Luckily, Utah sports the worst defensive rating in the NBA, third worst net rating, are a terrible passing team with the worst turnover rate in the NBA. This should be a game where the Cavs can put up 130 and force Utah to keep up, which they shouldn’t. The singular stat that will determine this game is the rebounding battle: Utah is one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA, while the Cavs are decidedly below average. If the Cavs don’t hustle, they could be in trouble.
Cavs bury Philly 126-99 (or, Philly cheesesteaks for everyone!)
The Philadelphia 76ers made the game interesting for about the first quarter before collapsing like a house of cards as the Cavs curbstomped this pathetic squad 126-99. It’s extremely satisfying to send away these losers home disgraced, they tried to take cheap shots during the Cavalanche, but the Cavs are above that kind of bum behavior. Night night Philly, have fun climbing out the basement of the East FRAUDS!
CARIS LEVERT FOREVER
In probably my favorite agenda, Caris LeVert continues to clown on the haters with an insane year that should be rewarded with a Sixth man award if NBA writers were actually competent at their jobs. So far this season, the Cavs are an unbelievable +21.3 points per 100 possessions with LeVert on the floor. LET CARIS COOK!
