Last steel beam placed in Albany International project
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Albany International Airport is another step closer to completing its terminal expansion project. On Saturday, crews placed the final steel beam for the new departure hall.
Airport officials said the last beam is on the terminal side of the construction site. Albany County officials, construction workers, and New York State Department of Transportation members signed the beam before it was placed.
Crews began putting the steel beams up in November to frame the addition to an existing terminal. Officials said the construction project is likely to be finished in 2026.
