Bears-Lions injury report: Braxton Jones and Teven Jenkins active, Kiran Amegadjie a healthy scratch

0

One week after he struggled mightily in his first NFL start, Bears tackle Kiran Amegadjie will be a healthy scratch for Sunday’s game against the Lions.

Left tackle Braxton Jones, who has been in concussion protocol for seven days, is active. So is guard Teven Jenkins, who was questionable heading into the game.

Cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who was sick Friday, will play, too.

Defensive tackle Gervon Dexter remains out with a knee injury. Guard Doug Kramer, who forgot to report to an official last week and cost the Bears a touchdown, is out with a shoulder injury.

Kramer was ruled as questionable, then doubtful, on Saturday. Running back Travis Homer is out after hurting his hamstring Friday.

The Bears’ list of healthy scratches includes linebacker Noah Sewell and cornerback Ameer Speed.

Jones reported concussion symptoms seven days after the Bears’ game against the 49ers and did not play Monday against the Vikings. Amegadjie, the team’s third-round pick, replaced him.

The Bears also promoted practice-squad offensive lineman Chris Glaser on Sunday morning.

Latest on the Bears
Only seven NFL teams since the AFL-NFL merger have been shut out in the first half in four consecutive games. The Bears can become the eighth if they repeat the ineptitude they showed in Detroit, San Francisco and Minneapolis.
Swift was not flagged for the play against the Vikings during the game, but was deemed to have committed unnecessary roughness upon review
Bates has missed five games since suffering a concussion as a replacement starter for Teven Jenkins against the Packers on Nov. 17. Backup guard/center Doug Kramer was added to the injury report — he’s doubtful with a shoulder injury.
