Four-star forward Spencer Ahrens chooses Boise State
By SAM LANCE
Class of 2025 four-star power forward Spencer Ahrens has committed to Boise State, he announced via Instagram on Saturday.
Ahrens — the 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward out of Bella Vista Prep (AZ) and the UPlay Canada Nike EYBL AAU program — chose Boise State over Illinois, Michigan, Stanford and others. Ahrens is originally from Ontario.
“Boise State fit my main pillars the best,” Ahrens said to On3 of his decision. “I am going to be given a great opportunity to impact as a freshman, the coaches have a great development plan for me and see what I can become, and I have built a great relationship with coaching staff. Then there is stuff on top, they win games.”
This summer at Peach Jam, Ahrens averaged 13.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists across six contests. He also shot 40.8% from the floor and blocked five shots.
“Spencer is a very skilled player that impacts the game in an assortment of ways,” UPlay head coach Charles Hantoumakos said. “He can be a playmaker or a scorer – whatever the team needs. He is an extremely coachable young man that wants to be pushed and challenged daily.”
Ahrens joins two guards in the Bronco’s 2025 recruiting class: Nash Humpherys and Noah Bendinger.
