India's child marriage crackdown reaches nearly 5,000 arrests

Over 4,800 arrests have been made in Assam, India, as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal child marriages. Police recently detained 416 individuals in overnight raids, bringing the total to nearly 5,000 since February 2023.
