Saturday Kitchen viewers left puzzled over Poppy O’Toole’s ‘overly energetic’ appearance on the cooking show
SATURDAY Kitchen fans have been left baffled by Poppy O’Toole’s super-sprightly slot.
Viewers were left scratching their heads after 30-year-old Poppy seemed overly-energetic first thing in the morning.
Fans couldn’t help but notice how loud Poppy was as she joined chef and host Matt Tebbutt cook the perfect ham for Boxing Day.
The episode also featured Harry Hill, Anna Haugh and Owen Morgan, as well as Celeb Cooking School‘s Poppy.
The Michelin-trained TikTok sensation – otherwise known as Poppy Cooks – has over 4M followers on the social media platform.
“Right, Poppy, we are moving on to Boxing Day with a big old ham,” Matt explained.
An excitable Poppy responded: “Absolutely, you can’t have Boxing Day without a big old ham… like your shirt… you’ve got them on your shirt.”
He joked: “Oh, I see… how rude.”
“No, I didn’t mean it in a rude way,” explained Poppy.
Speaking about the ham, she said: “This is going to be slow-cooked. Usually, I think, like Harry was saying, Nigella’s recipe involves boiling it and using Coca-Cola and all that sort of stuff.”
“Well, I’m not a complete slave to Nigella,” comedian and fellow guest Harry Hill said.
“Well, yeah, yeah, yeah, you’ve mentioned her enough,” Poppy replied.
Viewers commented on X: “Has Poppy been on the sherry this morning?!”
“Flippin’ heck Poppy’s cackle is making my ears hurt! She’s not normally this bad and loud! Is she drunk?” inquired another.
Another fan praised: “Loving you on Saturday Kitchen. A breath of fresh air! Harry Hill not bad either…”

Ahead of her appearance, one user wrote: “Attention-seeking Poppy will be in a bikini in order to get maximum attention.”
Poppy mocked: “Actually I’ll just be wearing a thong.”
Earlier in the year, fans were let furious as a guest chef wore a ‘completely inappropriate’ revealing outfit for a cooking segment.
Some BBC One viewers couldn’t believe their eyes when Kate Carter-Larg appeared on the daytime show in a low-cut strapless top paired with jeans and a brown belt.
Kate, owner of St Andrews eatery The Cheesy Toast Shack, was joined by her husband Sam Larg as she whipped up some mac and cheese.
But some at home felt her getup was “too revealing for a cooking segment”.
