Karnataka man loses Rs 6.6 lakh in APK file scam

A Mangaluru resident lost Rs 6.6 lakh in an APK file scam after downloading a malicious link shared in a WhatsApp group disguised as a Canara Bank update. The link led to a fake bank interface that tricked the victim into entering sensitive banking details, resulting in unauthorized transactions. The victim reported the incident to the Kavoor Police Station.
