Finland raises minimum salary requirement for work-based residence permits

Starting 1 January 2025, Finland will implement a higher minimum income threshold for residence permits for employed persons. Under new legislation, foreign employees applying for this permit must earn at least €1,600 per month to qualify. This increase aims to ensure that salaries are sufficient to cover living expenses and aligns with the Finnish Government’s objective of promoting full-time employment.
