Trai recommends issuing 5 Mhz spectrum more to railways in premium 700 Mhz band

India's telecom regulator, TRAI, recommended allocating the remaining 5 MHz of 700 MHz spectrum to Indian Railways for safety applications. This adds to the 5 MHz already allocated in 2021. TRAI suggested a nominal fee for this captive use, unlike the commercial rate of Rs 3,927 crore/MHz.
