Police find jar claimed to contain chlorine gas outside Manhattan precinct
LENOX HILL, Manhattan (PIX11) – Police found an ominous jug filled with a concoction of liquids outside the door of the sixth precinct on Thursday, authorities say.
Around 4 p.m. an officer found the container with a note saying “I seriously hope you didn’t open that jar because chlorine gas is a [expletive].” It also warned that the next jar would be a bomb.
Police say they tested the liquid and found it to be a mixture of bleach, vinegar, and other household cleaning items however, it was not deemed a threat.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident under a form of terrorism.
